Welcome to the Colin Mackay Library!

The Colin Mackay Library provides a welcoming learning environment where librarians, teachers and students work together as motivated researchers and readers.  Located in Fawcett Hall, the library is at the very heart of the RNS campus.

The library houses a resource collection of approximately 10,000 volumes, consisting of a balanced collection of classic and contemporary fiction, young adult books, and non-fiction materials. In addition to having resources available onsite for our students and teachers, the library subscribes to electronic encyclopedias and academic databases that contain thousands of digital full-text periodicals and books.

Students are encouraged to use the library for study, research and recreational reading. The library is open during regular school hours throughout the week, as well as during evenings (Monday through Thursday) from 7:30-9:30PM for evening study.

The Colin Mackay Library is home to the Writing Centre, a drop-in help desk for academic support related to writing, grammar, research, citation, and formatting skills. Students can come for personalized one-on-one assistance, or submit work for feedback by e-mailing it to [email protected] with the subject 'Writing Centre'.
