About Us

The Winslow High School Library/Media Center prides itself on being a modern learning commons. The print collection consists of nearly 12,000 books, ranging in topics from narrative fiction/nonfiction and graphic novels/manga to literary criticism and research reference. The collection also consists of audiobooks, magazines, films, and an extensive list of online research databases. To meet the various needs of students, the library provides access to Chromebooks, which may be checked out during school hours as well as overnight. All materials are indexed on an online catalog system, which can be accessed through this library website ("FIND A BOOK!" link). Items that are not readily available in the library can be obtained through an interlibrary loan. Student and staff requests for additions to the collection are always welcome.

The atmosphere is a friendly and inviting one, which makes the library a particularly comfortable and efficient place to work. The space includes several work tables, cushioned chairs, and a conference room. Teachers collaborate with the librarian and bring classes into work on a variety of assignments. Even though the skills taught here transfer to the college experience, many alumni find themselves coming back to utilize this library's resources. The library staff is always ready to assist school and community patrons and can be reached by phone or email (see Contact Us on the right side of any page).

The library website is maintained by Library Director, Mrs. Murray. If you need help utilizing the website and its resources, or if you would like to see an educational resource added to it, please contact Mrs. Murray (phone, email, or visit the library).
